Daily 8:00 PM–11:00 PM
Houmt Souk, Public Spaces
EXHIBITION TITLE
Water & Earth
SEE DJERBA engaged with Djerba’s complex heritage through the lens of contemporary media art. During the festival, public spaces were transformed into dynamic canvases, where media art installations applied digital hard- and softwares to explore the diverse heritages of Amazigh, Christian, Jewish, Ibadi, Maltese, and Arab cultures.
On display were light-based sculpture, mapped projections, and immersive spaces, many of them made site-specifically or adapted to local features.
The guiding theme in 2025 was “Earth & Water”, follwoing “Water & Salt” in 2024 and “Water Matters” in 2023. Artists share their reflections on the water crisis in Tunisia and beyond.
Artistic directors were Aymen Gharbi and Bettina Pelz, the founders of the SEE DJERBA project.
